About kev
A 1997 graduate of Woburn High School, Kevin excelled in both athletics and academics. A three-sport Varsity athlete, Kevin played baseball, basketball and football, all while maintaining an impressive GPA. He was also a member of the National Honor Society. He attended both Stonehill College and Northeastern University to complete his education.
Kevin’s passion for sports and thirst for knowledge were both character traits that he developed as a child and carried with him throughout his life. We lost Kevin in November, 2013 due to an undiagnosed heart condition which was complicated by pneumonia. It was the day after his 35th birthday.
His laugh, which announced his presence well before he stepped into a room, is something that will ring in our hearts forever.
Our funny Irishman was always available to help a friend in need and swelled with Tanner Pride even years after graduation.
We honor Kevin’s dedication to athletics, academics and generosity by establishing this memorial scholarship in his name.
The proceeds from the annual Kevin J. McKenna Memorial Golf Tournament will benefit a graduating student at Woburn Memorial High School. A percentage of the proceeds will also be donated to The Jimmy Fund, which Kevin donated to each year.
